ARK 1.0
ARK 1.0 is a lamp built from a single sheet of paper, cut, folded, and hand-stitched using a technique derived from Japanese bookbinding. The technique has guided the formal exploration throughout the process. The result is a self-supporting paper body with a visible construction and an internal framework that supports the light source. Straight sides and folds create a shifting play of shadows and lines that interact with the surrounding light and varies with the viewer’s position. Stitches along the sides of the form function as both structure and ornament, contributing rhythm while emphasizing structural logic and revealing the craftsmanship behind the lamp.
