DESIGNED BY HAND – CRAFTED BY HEART

At the curated exhibition at Industricentralen, Daniel Söderberg presents the very first object from his new design studio, Stenskatan. A stool crafted in limestone and cherry wood, the piece is part of an ongoing investigation into handcraft as a design method—where tools, materials, and time are integral to the form.

Balancing precision with intuition, the work explores how ancient materials and contemporary making can coexist. Visitors are invited to engage in conversations about craft, tools, and design philosophies—or simply take a seat on a stool made from stone that is over 500 million years old.

Daniel Söderberg holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
