8:30-10:00

Stockholm Creative Edition is presented this year at the 2024 hub: Double Space at former Gasverket at Torsgatan 22.

This year’s theme is Open Mind Open City, and shows how new visions and ambitions drive design forward with a focus on craftsmanship, innovation, sustainability and quality.

For this year’s exhibition, New Contemporary, designers from Nordic countries have also been invited to participate. New Contemporary is presented during the breakfast in the Gasverket and several new brands and design studios will be introduced.

SCE TALKS / Strategisk Arkitektur

16:00-16:30
Man and technology: AI and the architect
AI will affect the architecture profession, but no one knows exactly how yet. In what way will the design be affected? Will the architect’s role become more comprehensive and artistic or will it be that the AI sketches and the architect projects? What do we already see today as examples of where AI is used? Threats and opportunities.

16:54-17:15
Building in wood: here to stay
Building and construction in wood is now entering a second phase. What have we learned so far? Will we only build in wood for the foreseeable future? How big climate gains are we making? Where is today’s shape and design in wood? What skills need improvement/upskilling among architects and builders?

17:30-18:00
Transition in progress: circularity and timeless design
Design and interiors that last over time and can be easily reused are now in demand. How will interiors be affected by the new requirements? And how does product design become relevant when the focus shifts to circular design? What happens to expression and design when as much as possible is to be reused? At the same time, the companies continue to develop new products that they hope will become timeless design icons of the future. Will the Swedish design industry cope with the transition?

The talks will be in Swedish.

There is limited space available so register your visit to secure your spot. RSVP no later than May 16: talks@stockholmcreativeedition.com
