Beckmans College of Design Stockholm is a leading design college in Sweden and a meeting point for creative and artistic progress with significant relevance to society and its development. New knowledge and new perspectives on humanism, diversity, equality and sustainability permeate the courses which are based on an artistic foundation. Beckmans is a venue devoted to promoting the knowledge that is associated with praxis-based design on an artistic foundation, research and questioning. Curiosity, empathy and aesthetics are combined by means of focused teaching and collaboration.
The exhibition at Stockholm Creative Edition [THE SPACE] celebrates local craft and talent, while posing questions about future production methods and materials. The exhibition is a collaboration between Beckmans College of Design, showing handpicked objects from the talents of tomorrow and Reform Design Lab, producing 3D printed furniture in bio-based materials, and it also invites a number of small-scale makers and artisans to express their relationship to locality, community and making.
The New Locality is curated in collaboration between Hanna Nova Beatrice/New Era Studio and Annika Berner/Beckmans College of Design, with styling by Swedish set designer Annalena Leino. The exhibition is produced with great support from UPM.
Address: Stockholm Creative Ediiton [THE SPACE], Sveavägen 6, Sergelstan, Stockholm
