Furniture is close to us. They engage with our bodies, and the room around us. When we rest, there is a bed between us and the floor. This proximity makes furniture our kin, and just as us take part in a social and spatial context, whose relations they form.

The installation includes 13 furniture like pieces in coarse wood. They stand close and a bit in the shadows, waiting to emerge.

Anders Johansson is an architect with the firms Ateljé Södersvik and Bodafors Furniture, developing an interest in how wood may offer new roles and meanings in resonance with our world.
